Remember one of the Cooley Cousins had a birthday yesterday? Today is her sister's birthday. The Cooley Cousin named, Zoe Elizabeth is turning nine years old today! Zoe knows how much I love bacon and has given me the nickname, "bacon bits." It works for Zoe only, so don't get any ideas. I won't answer and you'll look stupid. I love Zoe's smile, sense of humor, charm and love for her family. Those key elements will take her far in life - I claim it for her now. Take a look at this Cooley Cousin. Today is this young lady's birthday. Yep, our Jessica is seventeen years old today. When Jess was a little girl she colored a picture for me. I was most impressed - she stayed within the lines and everything. I rarely throw things like that away. I still have it! That's several states and many miles away from the small town of Coaling, Alabama; where Great-Great-Great Grandparents Lacy and Aggie Cooley established their home and raised their children.

A young woman (a Cooley Cousin) is in the area. She decided to make a journey to her hometown for a few days. I know she's happy to be here. Welcome home, Maria.

Some Cooleys Are Coming!

They're coming, that's what I've been told. Some Cooleys will drive from Iowa and some from North Dakota. I don't know the exact number coming and I can't say how long they'll stay. My rough guess places the number between ten and fifteen. I know I'll have some tales to tell at the end of this weekend. We shall see what it will be.

Okay, so here's how this one happened; I forgot. I feel the best thing to do is be honest. It does not mean I don't love my cousin. Nah, not at all. There's been much happening, but I intend to set the record straight now. The great-great-great-granddaughter of Lacy and Aggie (Lewis) Cooley and John and Sarah (Crowden) Johnson was born on Sunday, March 14. 1965 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Maria's home of Jamestown, North Dakota is many miles and a few states away from the hometowns of the Cooley's (Coaling, Alabama) and the Johnson's (Jasper Township, Missouri). It may be a little late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARIA!!! Peace, Joy, Wealth, Love and Happiness are all yours to claim.

Happy Birthday, Jessica. Jess is the great-granddaughter of Eugene and Helen (nee Anderson) Cooley. I have witnessed first hand her ability to speak her mind, "the Cooley way." I see a promising future for this young lady. I have to teach her one small thing; I require a complete pound of bacon for breakfast. I don't usually share, but I will her. Stick with me, Jess. I'll make sure there is plenty of bacon.

Yes, We're Having A Family Reunion

I spoke with Armon and he assures me we're having a reunion this year. It's going to be in September. He's going to contact me with further information. I will be certain to forward the dates, times and location to the family. We shall see what it will be.

A Couple of Cooley Cousins

I gave myself a day away from here. I wanted to ensure I'd have something fresh, or at the very least, interesting to write. Yeah well, it didn't work the way I thought it would. There are so many stories about the family I want to tell. My problem, which one do I tell??? While I think about it, here's a bit of news. Today, Bud's grand-daughter (Maria) and Velt's grandson, (Yours Truly) will spend some time together. We've not seen the other since the family reunion. A fun time will be had by all, I'm sure. Of course I'll take pictures. Oh -- that's a hint. I need more pics, family!!!

Sources close to this blogger have photographic proof a wedding took place in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 30, 2009. That's the day Maria and Ted tied the knot. Congratulations and Best Wishes! The newlyweds have known each other, since they were children living in Saint Paul. After several years of being apart, the two were drawn together again. The newlyweds will reside in the jewel of the upper midwest; North Dakota. On behalf of the entire "COOLEY CLAN" -- Welcome to the family, Ted.
