Looky here, I got something to say... A Message For Christina "Dirrty" Aguilera
I was sitting here, minding my own self-business, and then IT happened. I heard this announcement, "Ladies and Gentlemen, singing our National Anthem, Christina Aguilera." I instinctively knew she was going to mangle the Star Spangled Banner. Oh yeah, I was on point. That chick MURDERED it. Not that she would ever read this blog, but I do have a message for her. "Listen dear, I realize SOMEBODY done told you wrong. I feel the need to make things right. I'm going tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but, so help me... You sucked at singing The National Anthem. Check this out - take a moment or two to listen to Whitney, then listen to Marvin perform it. That's all - just listen. Don't ever, ever, NEVER, ever, ever, ever, ever, never, EVER do that song again. Stick with what you know. I still like you and you can feel free to ask me for advice at any time. All my years in the business can be beneficial to you." As I said, SHE won't read it, but maybe, just maybe thru six degrees of separation, someone will tell her what I said. You never know?!?!? I found this version of our National Anthem performed by the late Marvin Gaye, and his daughter Nona. It's good y'all.
Getting dirtty - that's what Christina should stick to doing. Always, always go with what you know and what works best for you. You do you, Boo!

Happy Birthday, Sophie
Sophie Kaylynn, January 28, 2009, 8:43 AM, 6lbs 9oz 19 inches
Time flies and kids grow up overnight. It's hard to believe this little girl is two years old today.
Papa Terry is a doting father to all of his children, so we know she is loved, loved, loved. Happy Birthday to our little Sophie Kaylynn!

WARNING - CUTE KIDS AHEAD!!!

I must admit, there are NO ugly people in this family. Oh, there are some people with some butt-ugly personalities, but they still look good.

Looking at these two little girls brings an instant smile to your face.
These lovely little ladies get their good looks from their mother, Keyaria.

You know when they grown up there will be some broken hearts along the way.

Somewhere, In North Dakota...

It's always good to recognize the accomplishments of our loved ones. The new year brings a new home for Cooley Cousin Maria and her family. North Dakota (norfdaKOLDah) is where this Cooley has settled. That's several states and many miles away from the small town of Coaling, Alabama; where Great-Great-Great Grandparents Lacy and Aggie Cooley established their home and raised their children.

The purchase of a home makes it official; these Cooleys are norfdaKOLDahns!!!

Congratulations, Maria and Ted on your new home.

New Year's Eve
This was taken at a New Year's Eve/Birthday Party and Wedding Reception for my cousin Pam and her husband, Tim. I remember that NYE was a very cold one. I can't say what the temperature was, but I'm sure it was in the teens or single digits that night. One thing, we MinneSNOWtans are a hearty lot. We will leave our homes in all seasons and weather conditions to attend a self described "must attend" event. This multi-themed party was one of those events. Tyra called me the day before to ensure my suit, shirt and tie would match her outfit. The gentleman escorting her to any social event simply had to coordinate with her dress for that evening, period. I know on more than one occasion I changed MY tie to match what she was wearing. There never was an issue or problem with accommodating her request. She was meticulous with those details and I knew it. It was all good. Hanging with Tyra always meant a fun time. The night this picture was taken is no exception. I look at this picture twenty-two years later with fond memories of that evening.
Happy New Year 2011
